Take the B184 from Saffron Walden turn right for Carver Barracks and then turn right at the first phone box to find the Barracks Village Square mentioned above.
Army Cadets from Saffron Walden Detachment went to Orwell Quay in Ipswich on Sunday to experience some of the Army's modern sea going vessels.
Before setting sail on the River Orwell the Army Cadets inspected the navigation system as well as the engines in the, very hot, engine room of the Diablo. They also checked the fire fighting equipment and undertook fire fighting drills.
In a tour of 2 boats the cadets saw the gallies, the heads, the mess facilities and the sleeping accommodation on board; they also chatted to the 6 man crew about life aboard the Army's newest vessels.
